Umpqua Valley AVA
A short drive south of Eugene is the Umpqua River Valley. It is a destination for adventure seekers, wine connoisseurs, foodies, and fly fishermen. Established in 1984, the Umpqua Valley appellations was one of the first created in Oregon. The Umpqua Valley typically has a long frost-free growing season. Cool temperatures last well into the fall. These are optimal conditions for producing superb, award-winning wines.
Our lodge is positioned perfectly to experience all that the Umpqua Valley AVA has to offer. We are only 30-45 minutes from over 20 vineyards.

North Fork
Umpqua River
Steelhead and Fly Fishing
The North Fork is famous for steelhead and this is a river you can fish year round. There are 33 miles of flyfishing only water and this can be some of the most challenging and rewarding fishing in the world.
The fish average 5-8 pounds with some 15 pound fish caught each year. The river bottom is slippery and the fast currents can provide protection for fish and challenges for the avid fisherman.
Jack Hemingway called the North Umpqua’s Camp Water, a series of riffles and pools near the confluence of Steamboat Creek and the river, “the greatest stretch of summer steelhead water in the United States.”
Book your stay with us. We can connect you with local guides and they will get you on the water and into fish. We also have a full service fly shop which can outfit you with the finest gear and flies for a successful trip on the water.. You will never be without.
Be sure to check out our lodge news page to learn more of the opportunities.
